A link to a large JPEG file is below. This is an export of the CyberBoard map, onto which I have placed hex numbers, in format "A 1234". Obviously it's not optimal to have it outside of the CB system, but I thought it might prove useful for various other tasks. CNA-CB Map via DropBox

Thanks, Mike! That's perfect! How on Earth did you add all those hex numbers?

It wasn't really all that bad. I used Excel to sequentially fill cells, assigned a custom number format to the sheet, e.g., "\A 0000", filtered even and odd hex IDs to their own tabs, then copied and pasted into my drawing application of choice, OmniGraffle. It got fiddly near the coast, but maybe took me three hours. Five if you count my first experimentation and flubs. Finally re-exported as best quality JPEG, which ballooned the file size from something like 25 MB to 120 MB. All those little unique text bitmaps don't compress well.

Irritated by the jaggies visible when zooming into the map, I have redone much of it. The linked PDF now features fully vectorized text, is searchable by hex and place names, and sports various vectorized graphics such as airfields. I've also nudged various labels around a little bit to my taste. Only the terrain and bitmap hex grid remain from the original. CNA vector mapFeedback is welcome, of course.

So I was going over map as I was looking at some workflows.
I gather we all agreed there is no need for Victory Point cities on the hex spreadsheet? Says something.
So I was thinking I might add them. Also I see no reason why Off map boxes cannot be in same Spreadsheet. The 2 important bits of data for them are connection hex on map and distance to connection hex. I thought it might be smart to have a hex code for them as well for lookup tables. Suggestion F99XX 1xxx 10099 99xxx Based on your hex name convention eg E 4418 1150 10044 44150
In short just call them all row 99 and the column number is an index along a list of 30 or so off map locations.
WHat do you think Mike?

Another thought on terrain. Currently major city hexes are denoted as clear in the sprdSht, I was thinking the terrain type was actually " Major City " an 11th cell type. Makes map automation a bit easier as you do not have to search on city all the time to ensure the hex is simply clear.

Those suggestions sound good to me, sloth. Feel free to edit the spreadsheet accordingly. I'm glad to see a bit of activity here on the forum. It's felt like a tomb of late.
